Book Competition WINNERS! - Comes With New Newspaper, Pin, and Fixes!
Oi! Sit back and grab some coffee, this will be a long post. As you may have heared, there was a book competition held on Vintage Penguin , where the community submits their best story to be put in a custom 'community book' in Vintage Penguin! You can view their post for information here. This past Friday, they announced the competition has opened and asked everyone to comment their story for it to be read and approved. Today, submissions were closed. They all were put to comparison to each other and thoroughly chosen to find ones that will blow everyone's flippers away. Altough there were many submissions, only 3 winners could be chosen, so don't take it personal or any offense if you didn't get chosen. You all put your effort and best into this, which is what made it seem very meaningful and I'm sure it was hard for them to choose. If your story didn't win, don't worry, they will stay on the blog as a sort of 'historic landmark' for everyone to read your great stories. I have read many and they were great! This leads onto out next topic: The Newspaper!
Here, you can find a brand new newspaper, just released this afternoon! It includes all the latest spicy news and the book contest winners! Congratulations to the winners of the book writing contest! If you didn't get a chance to take a peek at the newspaper or just missed it, here are the winners:
Roy2490, with a book titled "The Green Eyed Man"
cg711, with a book titled "The Wishing Stone"
Ciullo1, witha book titled "Club Historical".
Along with the winners, there's some mention about the fall fair preperations. As well, there might a job opportunity you'll be interested in, seems like Alex needs some help. Go check the ad for more details. (Last page, under "Help Wanted")
I also have some important news to share, as it seems that someone has left their belongings in the book room. I went to go refill the coffee cup next to the lamp and sofa, and I noticed something rather different. I can see a book and a pencil, just sitting there untouched. Nobody has stolen it yet, and I can only presume it was maybe Aunt Arctic or a fellow book writer that left their blue book and pencil on the night-stand. Nobody was on at the time of writing this, so I went to go pick it up to look for a name or some sort of identity of that penguin, but no luck. There was only some measly pin underneath. Luckily, nobody has stolen it or tampered with it. It seems we have a great community here. Well, I'll post my picture of it, so everyone can get an idea of what it looks like and see if you might have an idea of who owns it, or if it's yours you can recognize it and pick it up.
With that all through, if you stuck with us and are still reading, then you have successfully reached the end! This was indeed a long post, but it had to be done, to keep you informed and up-to-date. With all being said, I conclude this post. Ta ta for now!

Along with the addition of these lost items, there was some changed regarding the UI! As many know far well, when the filter detects a potential offensive, harmful, or swear word, it will replace the chat bubble with the angry face emoticon and replace the message with badword :( . There was a recent, but short-lived change that changed it to "I may have said a badword" instead, but was reverted back to the old and simple badword :( . Glad that's back!
Next comes another change with the UI, but this time it has to do with the inventory. This is a minor but slightly noticible change, meaning it didn't revert back to the old CPIP inventory. (It may return one day with a Vintage Penguin Improvement Project, who knows?) It was a bit of a tricky one, but it was finally accomplished, the inventory no longer resets to the top or randomly closes. Before this was implemented, the inventory would always have a few bugs, such as resetting your position in the inventory to the top, or it would just sometimes randomly close. This has all been fixed, so no more random refreshing in the inventory. This might take a couple of minutes to get used to, due to the fact that you no longer have to worry about having quickly re-scroll every time you equip an item. It'll feel much better afterwards. With that all through, if you stuck with us and are still reading, then you have successfully reached the end!
